Arsenic is a well-established environmental toxin, which damages various organs of the body. Arjunolic acid, a compound isolated from the bark of Terminalia arjuna (a Himalayan herb), was found to protect liver cells from arsenic toxicity. It lowered liver enzymes and protected against lipid peroxidation and other oxidative damage. Vitamin C can also be used for arsenic protection and works just as well.
