I was diagnosed with cervical cancer with spreading to the lymph nodes in October of 2007.

My acupuncturist referred me to Steve as someone who had experience treating people going through chemotherapy. Steve has seen me through over six months of treatment and I know that my body has withstood this very intense treatment because of Steve's care. I see him once a week for acupuncture, which from week to week helps me with the nausea, other side effects, anxiety and fatigue. I also follow a regime of supplements and herbs that is very precise in terms of what medications I'm on and what is happening in my body at any given time. Throughout my treatment, my doctors have been amazed at my steady bloodcounts, how healthy I look and how well I have done and I know this is due to my alternative care.

Thank you so much for helping me - when I first sought treatment I suffered from chronic sinus infections, had very large ovarian cysts (which my OBGYN said would eventually result in my needing a hysterectomy) and I suffered from chronic fatigue, sinus infections, migraines, allergies, asthma and mood swings - all of which I was being medicated for. I thought I ate a healthy diet, but didn't realize the importance of eating organically, etc. When you told me you could get me to a point where I'd be able to stop taking the medications I was on; I laughed to myself, I'd been on them for so long it seemed like there was no other way to deal with my physical issues, but I knew it wouldn't be easy to change my eating habits but I was willing to try anything to improve the way I was feeling.

I started an herbal regimen and the anti-inflammatory diet about 9 weeks ago and my cysts have literally disappeared. I have stopped needing to take my allergy medications, almost never need to treat my asthma with inhalers and will be completely off of my twice daily anti migraine medicine in 5 days (after a gradual reduction in the medication). When I first came to ECCM, I had been suffering from plantar fascitis for five months. I had been treated with Western medicine to no avail, soon thereafter with acupuncture treatment I was cured. My next goal was to lose weight. Steve encouraged me to exercise, eat healthy and make lifestyle changes. Once I started losing weight, Steve advised me to try herbs and supplements so I could gradually get off of my prescription medication for my various illnesses. In 2004 I rented a house with a mold problem. I was not aware of this problem until the ceiling of the house collapsed during an extreme rain storm and we decided to move. There was mold growing all along the side of our mattress, on the back of our couch and bookcase, it was everywhere. I thought the mold was just gross and a nuisance, however, I came down with what I thought was a really bad flu/cold. We moved out of the house the following month but the cold/flu thing did not go away, instead it worsened. I was wheezing and coughing, had no energy, ran fevers from 100-103 every few weeks, my health was a mess. Normally I'm a person who rarely gets sick, never goes to the doctor and is hesitant to take medicine. But this cold/flu/pneumonia thing would not lessen so I went to the doctor. Over the next year and a half I was shuffled between allergists, infectious disease specialists, the pulmonary lung function lab at UCLA (I had a 30-40% reduction in lung function) and no one could figure out how to help me. I was prescribed 4 different kinds of inhalers, in addition to antibiotics, yet couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without needing to sit down and I felt horrible all the time due to the recurring fevers, headaches and other flu like symptoms. Prior to the onset of this illness I was training for a half marathon and was very healthy. The physical therapist I was working with had a friend with a similar situation that was linked to mold exposure and she recommended I see the folks at ECCM. At ECCM they diagnosed with me mold exposure and a subsequently compromised immune system. Within 2 months of treatments, changes to my diet and -I must admit - awful tasting herbs, my health was transformed. I could not only climb stairs, I could exercise again. The fevers went away, as did the wheezing and all flu symptoms, and I regained my health. I threw away all of the inhalers and within 6 months it was as if the whole year and a half had been a bad dream. I credit Brandon and Wendy entirely!

A year and a half later I had a healthy 10 pound baby and once again these guys were amazing with the post partum care. Post c-section, they helped drain 20 pounds of fluid out of me in record time and got my bowels up and working again. I had limited post partum moodiness, great milk production and the calmness of knowing I was in very good hands. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

In May 2006, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He went through 6 chemotherapy treatments and in January 2007 we were told he was in remission. In March 2007 he was in the hospital for his heart condition. Chemo had created additional problems. He was in and out of the hospital with his heart issues. Then in June 2007 the NHL was back full blast. My husband's glands on the side of his neck and his throat were swollen. He could not eat, he could not sleep, he could barely breathe. He was in the hospital for a week. The doctors did nothing for him but tell us he was no longer in remission. We were desperate and then I remembered Steve. I had met Steve at work and I called ECCM. Steve agreed to meet us that Saturday. He did acupuncture and my husband's throat had gone down enough that he could breathe. He ate dinner that night for the first time. He has continued to see Steve and though my husband is in and out of remission, he has more good days than bad. Coming to ECCM is the one quiet and peaceful time in his week. I believe the peace he feels when he comes to ECCM and Steve's acupuncture treatments is what keeps him going. I bless this place. I love you all for being here.

ECCM completely changed my way of living. Living with pain and allergies is not necessary anymore. I don't think I could ever go back to traditional medicine.

When I first came to ECCM I had a list of 10 health issues that needed correction. By the end of 60 days, using just herbs prescribed by Dr. Gomberg, 8 or the 10 issues had been resolved. I felt 200% better. Thank you Dr. Gomberg!
